Potty Time

We had a huge victory last night. Owen used the big potty for the first time! On Monday for his bath Scott was getting Owen undressed while I was getting his water ready. He runs in and is ready to get in when I asked him if we wants to go potty. He starts peeing on the rug. We'll try again tomorrow. Tuesday basically the same thing happens, but he pees on the towel that has taken the place of the rug until I get it washed. 0-for-2! Wednesday and Thursday we successfully get him to sit on the potty (we count to 10 before he can get off). Then yesterday I was about to 3 and he starts to pee! He points and says pee. Scott and I make a big deal out of it and he seems to care less. He just wants in the tub. He loves his splish-splash. So much in fact that he's began asking for it after every meal these days. At least he's not complaining. Someday I'll probably fight him to take a bath or shower. Hopefully that's a long time from now!

Scott's bell's palsy is still bothering him. He has regained very little movement, if any, in his face. On Monday he'll have had it for 2 weeks. He has been seeing his chiropractor this past week to help with the pain in his neck and shoulders. On Tuesday of next week he has an appointment with the accupuncturist. So we'll see how much that helps. Last night he was able to sleep without any shooting pains. We felt that was a huge plus as he hasn't gotten a good night's rest since this came about.

This morning we went to Menards and bought our storm door (they are having a door sale). It had to be special ordered since we want green to match our front door. It will be so nice to get that in this spring so we can have that and the patio door open to let some fresh air flow through the house.

That is great about Owen! Isn't it wonderful when kids can use the toilet all on their own? I am kind of nervous about potty-training the girls. They will be 2 tomorrow. They are going to have to wait a few months till I warm up to the idea! (And get settled with Elden!)

And I hope Scott can get some relief soon--and you too from the headaches!
