Where to Begin?

Ah yes, the title says it all. I'll start with last Friday night...

As I was laying in bed with Owen reading him a Curious George book, we get to the end and he sees all the other books on the back flap and tells me he wants those books too. I tell him if he wants new books, he'll have to try going potty on the toilet. Owen says, "OK. I have to potty." So I go along with it and bring the book thinking we'll be in there for awhile. Plus a friend of mine from work did this with her boy and it worked for them. Why not, right? Sure enough he pees and poops!! WHAT? Did that really just happen? Scott and I make a really big deal out of it and tell him we can go buy him a new book and go out to eat at Noodles.

Saturday morning rolls around and I'm changing Will's diaper. Owen comes over and says, "I'm peeing." Scott and I both tell him let's try going on the toilet. Owen also announces that he has to poop. Sure enough, the kid knows what he's talking about. Two days in a row! Well the rest of the afternoon he wasn't interested, but we felt it was HUGE! Sunday he peed on the toilet and Monday at Randi's he also pooped and peed! YEAH! Maybe the end of diapers (for one) is closer than I expected.

Saturday night I felt my sore throat coming back. Sunday it was terrible and my right ear hurt. It was my left ear last time and my I had just finished taking my last does of amoxicillin on Wednesday. I'm thinking why is this coming back to me for the 3rd time and Ashton and Marcie's wedding is next week?!?!?! AHHH! So off to Urgent Care I go. My right ear is gungky, the Doctor says. (Reminds me of my dad and his fun vocabulary.) She tells me my throat looks really swollen and red, but didn't think it was strep (because that's what I thought it was). Thank goodness! I get a steriod for my throat and azithromycin for my ear. The steroid knocked me out for the first part of Sunday, but by mid-afternoon I was feeling much better. I still have this slight cough which is annoying. I'm just praying it won't affect my singing at the wedding.

Last night we took Owen (Will came too) to Noodles and to pick out a new book at Barnes & Noble. We needed to follow thru on our promise! I don't know how we got Owen out of B&N without seeing the Thomas the Train set-up, but we did it! He picked out a WALL-E book. We had to read it a few times last night.

We listened to the Twins game during all the car time yesterday. What a great first game at the new stadium! We can't wait to go on Thursday. Grandma Bielke is coming to watch the boys so we don't have to rush home to pick them up from daycare. Then we'll be headed down to wedding rehearsal on Friday. I think we'll leave around afternoon nap so the boys sleep most of the way. I've been trying to prep Owen for being a ring-bearer on Saturday. I tell him that he gets to walk down the isle at church to Uncle Ashton and Uncle Roo Roo. He tells me, "Yep!" That's all. I guess we'll have to wait and see!

Oh, almost forgot. I did add a few highlights to my hair on Saturday. I don't have pics to post. You'll just have to wait to see me. Hopefully it will pass inspection. Sorry Dad, it's not platinum blonde like you thought I should do.

I Don't Know

What am I going to do with my hair tomorrow? I think highlights for sure. I probably shouldn't be changing it up just right before Ash and Marcie's wedding. I'm just afraid it's a little too dark. After seeing pics of me at Marcie's shower, I'm not sure I liked it as much. So, I think I'll be adding some depth. Stay tuned....

Vicki is planning to come over on Sunday to draw out Will's room so she can paint it. I'm super excited to see what she does with airplanes this time around. She did such a great job on Owen's train. He's going to have to keep it until he moves out! Well, maybe not, but it sure is going to be a sad day when it gets painted over.

Talked with our neighbors tonight. Everyone was outside on this gorgeous day. Lisa and Jason were out for a walk. You may not know that our neighbor, Lisa, has mastesized breast cancer back in her lungs and a brain tumor. The brain tumor is too large to operate on, but they are planning to treat it with chemo. She looks great and has a strong faith in God. Everyone around here has been pulling together to help out. I'm so glad we have great neighbors. Reminds me of home.
