Just A Cold

Owen went to the dr. today. Sounds like he just has a cold. His nose is constantly draining. It's hard to keep up with it. I'm still stuffy and not feeling the greatest yet. Hopefully I'll feel better tomorrow so I can take Owen to "swim swim" tomorrow.

The Crud

The cold that I had two weeks ago is back. This time I went in to have things checked out since we're celebrating Owen's birthday and Easter this weekend. I am on antibiotics for a sinus infection. This time a cough has started in too. I can only hope that this goes away in a few days like the other cold.

Owen has something too. His tonsils are swollen and his nose is running. Scott is taking him into the doctor tomorrow morning. We want to make sure they see those tonsils. We'd like to get that on his charts as often as we need to incase we need to see an ENT specialist soon. We don't want Owen to have to suffer thru all that any longer than he needs too. He has huge tonsils the way it is, so any bit of extra swolleness is terrible for the kid, especially at night.

My sister, Brita, had her baby yesterday!

Evelyn (Ellie) Jane Hanchek was born at 7:48 last night. She weighed 6 lbs. 11 oz. and was 18 inches long. Just a little peanut!

All are doing well as they are planning to make the trip home today! We are looking forward to meeting her on Saturday.

"I'm just a kid."

Yesterday afternoon Owen decided it was time to run. His favorite past time in the house. He also decided he wanted mommy to run with him. I obliged and we were doing our usual laps. Then he wanted to race from the front door to the patio door. The rest of the story goes like this:
Mommy: Owen you're too fast, you should let mommy win for once, you little stinker.
Owen: I can't be a stinker. I'm Owen. I'm just a kid.

Another Weekend Gone

I don't even feel like I had a weekend. Chorale consumed it and we lost an hour. This afternoon was my concert in Hopkins. I am thankful there was only 1 concert this time around instead of the usual 3-4. Tomorrow night it will be nice just to come home and not go anywhere!

Oatmeal for Will - Potty for Owen

Will had solids for supper last night. I tried giving him cereal a few weeks ago and it just all came back out (pushing it out of with his tongue). Last night was the second time and he was a pro. At first he gave me this look like, what the heck are you feeding me, mom? But soon he just wanted more. It sure is nice that he doesn't have the gag-reflux like Owen did.

Owen went potty on the toilet last night! We were so excited for him. He is also requesting 'night-night diapers' when he gets home from Randi's. These are actually training pants (like pull-ups). So, I am praying we are on the verge of no more diapers for him. That sure would be nice!

Silly Will

Last night when we were eating supper, I put Will in his bouncy seat on the floor by me. I'm not paying any attention when I hear him grunting. So I look at him and I get this huge smile. I go back to eating and I hear more grunting. Look at him again and another huge smile. The little stinker is playing a game with me. We did it over and over and he'd smile and squeal in delight each time I looked at him!
