Dreaded Ear Infections

Thursday night Owen slept horrible. He screamed when I put him down, so we slept in the chair most of the night. I noticed that he was pulling on his left ear a lot too, so Scott and I decided we would take him to the dr. I stayed home with Owen for part of the morning. Then when Scott got home, I went into work. We couldn't get Owen in to see Dr. Westland until 4:15 that afternoon. I met them at the appointment. The dr. asked Owen what ear she should look in first. Owen pointed to his right ear. She looked at it and said, "Yep, it's a bad one." Then she looked at the left ear and said he had a matching set. Bummer. Double ear infection. Last night around 7:00 you could tell that his ears were really starting to bother him. That first dose hadn't kicked in yet, so we gave him some tylenol to help with the pain. He at least slept in his crib until 3 this morning. Then Owen and I ended up on the couch for the rest of the night. So hopefully we'll be on the road to recovery today!

Ick, ick, ick

The snow just keeps coming down. It took me 15 minutes to clean off the car at work. There was at least 4 inches on the car. And it was very heavy! Owen and I got stuck in the driveway on the first attempt. I backed up into the road and floored it....that worked! Scott shoveled once and will probably have to go out there again later tonight. We have a few drifts, but there are more at our neighbor's house across the street.

On a side note - Owen got his last "fang" in this week. I think that makes 16 teeth now!

A Picture Is Worth A Thousand Words

This picture sums up our weekend at the Depot in Minneapolis. Owen had a blast! He had plenty of people to take him down the slide...we all paid for it with sore bums, but it was worth it. We were at the water park for a few hours on Saturday. When we went down on Sunday morning, it was like he knew exactly what he wanted to do. He was showing his big cousin, Abby, how to go underwater. Those swimming lessons are paying off!

Is it Friday yet?

We just got back from Owen's swimming class. He did really good kicking and scooping tonight. He gets everyone wet with his kickers! One of the moms commented how good he is. Well, he likes to splash water...

This weekend we are meeting up with Scott's family at the Depot in Minneapolis. We'll be enjoying the indoor water park. I think Owen will love it. They have a train that has water coming out of it and who knows what else. That's what I can get from the pictures they have of it online. Looks like fun. It will be nice to have a little get-away weekend without traveling for hours in the car.

Scott and I were commenting on our way home from swimming that we thought it should be Friday tomorrow instead of Thursday.

I am really not liking the cold outside. It is just bone chilling to me. I was doing really well all winter until about a month ago. Now I just hate the cold. I am so tempted to go to the tanning booth just for some heat!!! But, I'm too cheap. Guess I'll just have to snuggle up to my boys at home. Darn...

Just Plain Lazy

I've neglected writing lately just because I've been too lazy and tired. At least I'm starting to feel a little more caught up on sleep these days. Owen is actually sleeping through the night. I hope we can keep it up for longer than his last record...4 days.

We're trying to decide what to do today. We like to get things done in the morning to get out of the house. Then we come home for Owen's nap. We are planning to head up to Ryan, Kristine and Calvin's tonight to watch the Men's Gopher's basketball game. It will be fun to see them.

Since PaPa and Grandma Anderson visited last weekend, Owen has asked for them everyday since. G&G Bielke are coming back from Vegas today. Hopefully they had a good "work" trip : )

Last night we went to swimming for our make-up lesson. Owen did really well with his scoopers (hands). Usually he's better at kicking! He got to go under the water a lot more (different teacher). His face is so cute when he comes up. It looks like he's amazed at what just happened!

A Busy Weekend

We had a very good, fun weekend. Mom and Dad Anderson came up Saturday morning. Owen was very excited to see them. He broke them in right away with a stinky diaper that needed to be changed (good timing Owen!). Saturday, late afternoon, Scott and I picked up Tracy and Andy to go down to the MN Gophers Hockey game. They played terrible and lost 1-2 to MSU (Mankato State).

This morning we met up with Ash at Underwater Adventures at the MOA. Marcie was supposed to join us, but she got sick - Get better Marcie!! We all enjoyed the fishies, but we needed to get some lunch because we could tell Owen was getting sleepy. So Grandma skipped Archivers at MOA so we could get going. We weren't too far away when Owen fell asleep. He ended up taking a good 2-hour nap. Now he's watching Elmo (which he hasn't watched for quite some time). He seems to prefer Little Einstein's, Thomas the Train or Veggie Tales the Pirates who don't do anything movie. We seem to go back and forth between those the most.

Owen's 2nd birthday is fast approaching and I'm not sure what I'll do for a cake yet. I'll have to start perusing the internet for some good ideas.

I still need to get pictures of Owen swimming on here. Scott even took some last week. We just haven't taken the time to unload them from the camera.
