It's been a long time

Today was Owen's 2 year check-up. He got to stand on the big boy scale and stand up to get measured. He did really well! They asked him to put his hands on his tummy when he stood on the scale and he did. He weighs an even 30 pounds. Then he stood nice and tall to get measured. He is 35 3/4 inches tall. I should look back to see what he was when he was a year old. I am pretty sure that he was 27 lbs. He's gotten taller and thinned out in the past year!

At daycare, they celebrated his birthday today. They had cupcakes. He got to bring home a balloon with Mickey Mouse on it. Randi gave him a Zoom-O. They have one at daycare and he loves it. So you can imagine what we've been doing tonight. The greatest is that he wants me to do it and he chases after the plastic rings. He's playing fetch...and wearing himself out! Hopefully this means he'll sleep well (knock on wood). We've had two nights of Owen sleeping thru the night, so I probably just zinxed it. Ugh.

Last weekend we went out to Mom and Dad Anderson's Friday night. We had a classmate of mine take Owen's 2 year pictures. They turned out pretty cute. Now I just need to sit down and decide what I'm ordering.

We stopped over to see Melanie, Page and Logan (Roo wasn't there). Owen was pretty tired after playing with his cousins that afternoon!

On Sunday we took off early and headed up to Scott's parent's lake home. We checked out the new couch and boat. (Tami, Derek and kids were there too!) All the grandkids sure thought it was pretty cool because they got to go in the boat. It'll be fun once the weather gets warm enough so we can go out on the lake.

Oh and the craziest thing happened Sunday night when we pulled into the driveway. Our new neighbors were moving in. Then I noticed that I new someone over at the house, I had to go over and see who was moving in. It just happens to be someone I grew up a mile from on the farm south of WG. Travis Kottke! His mom, dad and sister were there too, so we chatted for while. He and his fiance Ashley Paplow moved in. My cousin Amy is married to Ashley's cousin. What a small world, huh? It was nice to see friendly faces move in next door!
