Not Much

Can you believe that Christmas is on Friday (and Marcie's birthday)? Where did December go? I swear time has stood still for me since Will was born. He gets bigger and I still think it's November. He's already 6+ weeks old! Half of my maternity leave is over which makes me sad.

I've been trying to get Will used to the bottle for daycare. Yesterday we started two bottles a day. That went well! They don't always especially if he's tired too. He slept way too much yesterday...I think grandparents have that effect on him. So I was up every 2 hours after midnight. I could barely keep my eyes open when I was in his room. I knew it was going to be a rough night. Hopefully tonight will be better.

Scott's parents stopped over for a couple hours yesterday. They had a concert to attend in Lakeville, so they made their way over here before hand.

It's snowing here this morning. Doesn't sound like we're supposed to get any more than an inch. We have a snow blower now. We finally took the plunge and made the purchase. It'll be nice to have it on those big snow days. Sure glad we're not getting the huge storm on the east coast!

Funny Story

Last night Papa Arlie was chasing Owen. Owen was getting tired and wiped out on the kitchen floor. Papa asked Owen if he was "pooped". Owen says, "No, poopies all gone." (Scott had just changed his poopie diaper before they started running around.) We all doubled over and laughed at that one. So cute!

I'm not lying

See! All the people who called and talked to me today on the phone told me I sounded terrible. I wasn't kidding. I feel like it too. Here's to a better day tomorrow!

Ack!

Well, after getting Owen through croup, we all have colds now. The dr. said Owen would have a cold for 5-7 days after....just didn't think we'd be included. I have it the worse. Scott seems good today, but last night was a different story. Will is coughing and sneezing too, poor little guy. His breathing isn't congested, so I feel good about that. I don't want him to get RSV. I on the other hand sound like a life long smoker. I'm sneezing, coughing and constantly blowing my nose. I can barely move my head to the right because it makes my back hurt. I knew my back was taking a toll and getting used to carry a baby around the house again, but this is like a double whammy that I didn't need. Oh and the sinus pressure....I don't even want to go there. Plus, nursing doesn't give you many options for OTC meds to take. I can't take most because they make my heart race like crazy. Not worth that feeling.

Sorry for all the complaining. I am praying we are all healthy for baptism next weekend.

Croup

Owen came down with croup over the weekend. He didn't have much of an appetite on Thursday and Friday. Then the cough started Friday afternoon. That night was tough for him and his cough just kept getting worse. Sunday was definitely the worst day. His energy level wasn't normal either, so we knew he wasn't doing well. So today we took him into the dr. After we set up the appointment, Owen was running around pretty good. But we still wanted him looked at in case there was something else going on. Everything looked good (lungs, heart, throat and ears). The cough has really subsided today too (not the barking it was before, thankfully).

If you've never heard a croup cough before, it's really quite terrible! I had only heard about it, but once Owen started, I knew what it was. Guess it's a virus that needs to run its course. He is on the back end of it, so hopefully we're done for a while!

Baptism

Yeah! I finally have Will's baptism scheduled. I hope that everyone can make it. When I found out that the Saturday evening baptism was open, I thought it sure would be nice to have it at a time that people didn't have to travel so early in the morning for. Then Brita and Matt won't feel rushed to get back on the road Sunday afternoon too. So I am hoping that it works for everyone!!

A couple hundred geese just flew over the house. When are they going to fly south for the winter?? Ick...I really do not like geese.
