Teeth can be tough work

Owen's 3rd incisor tooth came through today. They've all came in since the week of Christmas. The 4th seems to be waiting it out. Why can't they just come in a the same time?? They cause a lot of sleepless nights.

This weekend I had to go into work for a few hours. I needed to finish up our master catalog select. This is the mailing that we send out hardcover books to our best customers. We have 2 of these large selects a year. They have the most testing and are the most difficult part of my job to put together and get it out the door by the due date. Right now, we're looking to be in good shape thanks our jobs running at super-speed. Let's hope the numbers come out good tomorrow morning!

I'm attempting to get ready for my MN Chorale audition. It's coming up on the 2nd. I love iTunes! I just downloaded a song so I can practice all week! This recording will serve as my virtual pianist. I don't think I'll have time to meet up with anyone this week to help, so this is my ticket. You see, I have a staple of about 4 songs I can rotate each year, but I'm sick of doubling up and need to find something else to sing. Cheers to iTunes!

Splish, Splash!

Owen got to swim again last night now that his ear infection is better. He sat patiently in Dad's lap waiting for our turn to get in the pool. When I told him it was time to swim, we couldn't get in fast enough! Owen is the oldest in the class and is much bigger than the other kids, so his splashes get everyone wet...and he's not afraid to splash either. By the end of the lesson, Owen got to swim under the water (with teacher assistance). He loved it! Next time we'll try to remember the camera so we can show everyone pictures.

A Fun Day

Ryan, Melanie, Page and Logan came up yesterday afternoon. They took Scott to the Monster Truck show at the Metrodome. They didn't get home until midnight.

Ash and Marcie joined all of us for lunch and stayed the afternoon. Owen really loved playing with Pagie, Logan, Ash and Ryan. During lunch Owen kept saying, 'ASH!' Ash threw him around a bit and Owen couldn't seem to get enough. Ryan did a good job tickling Owen too, with the one good arm he has! So thanks for making Owen tired because it sure was easy to get him down for a nap.

Has anyone else noticed it looks like we live in a snow globe today?

Whew!

I am very thankful for my job! Northern layed-off a group of people yesterday. I haven't heard a specific number, but I know of 9 people so far. We're glad I wasn't one of them!

4 hours

Today I took Owen into the Dr. We found out he has an ear infection in his right ear. So we'll not be going to swimming lessons tonight. Bummer! Fortunately they have make-up sessions, so when we're ready we just have to sign up for one of those.

The poor little guy was wiped-out because he slept from 1-5 today!! A 4-hour nap. He really needed it. For once in a long time he didn't wake up screaming. I'm hoping that means he's on the mend.

Short, but Sweet

We made it up to Brian and Becky's last night, but as we were walking to the front door, Owen threw up. So we basically went in to clean up and turn back around to head for home. He seemed better all day and didn't have a fever, so we thought we were in the clear. Guess not. Owen was like his crazy self at home, so that was good. At least Chris, Vicki and Mia showed up before we left so we could at least say hi! Hopefully nobody gets sick!!

This is our second time around with the flu. Scott and I are wondering if the flu shot even works at all for Owen (just like me) or if he didn't have the flu shot, would it be a lot worse? I'm afraid we won't know the answer to that question. We're just thankful he's feeling better and these little cold/flu bugs have been short-lived.

The Sun is Bright

Looking outside today blinds a person. The snow is pretty much looks like glass with that layer of ice on it. Then with the sun glaring off of it, it can be a bit nasty! I keep thinking, we're almost thru the worst of the cold...right? Next week is supposed to be super cold. Ugh.

Yesterday when I went to pick up Owen from daycare, Randi said that he had a fever when we woke up. AND that he had threw-up. Just that morning she told me that a couple of the boys had fevers and had stayed home this week. Guess Owen wasn't left out...bummer. He seems to be ok today with exception to his cough. At least the cough isn't constant. He's down for a nap now. Let's hope he wakes up without a fever. We're planning to go to Becky and Brian's tonight. Chris and Vicki will be there too.

We took all our Christmas decorations down this morning. Owen helped take the Christmas tree down. "Christmas tree done," is what he kept saying.
