Happy Valentine's Everyone!
We kept Owen home from daycare on Thursday and Friday of last week. Wednesday night was a tough one for him. He had that terrible croup cough. Fortunately that was the only night he had that barky-cough. So we thought he was getting better!
Last night we went to Noodles, Owen's favorite, and he didn't eat as much as he normally does. So we took left overs home. Again, at lunch today, he didn't each much of his leftovers. He was laughing at me and I noticed that he has inherited his daddy's tonsils (and maybe Grandma Dianne's too). They were HUGE! So we went to Urgent Care. We got there at 1 and didn't leave until 3:30!!!!!!! Ugh. That is never fun when you have kids. Owen fell asleep by the time we actually saw the dr. He was so exhausted he didn't wake up during the exam. We had a Terrible dr. too. I would have never guessed she was a Peds dr. That just made the experience worse. Anyway, his swollen tonsils are issues mostly at night. The poor guy is snoring away because his airway is very constricted. He also has a slight ear infection. We just can't get around those this time of year. We went through the same thing with him last year at this time. No fun.
Will is really getting good control of his hands. Today Will even grabbed his toy hanging from his carseat handle! Every once in a while he enjoys sucking on his thumb. First finger wrapped around his little nose and everything. He is laughing more and more. I'm looking forward to the first time he laughs at Owen. He just loves Owen and Owen loves him back. Owen will go over to him and talk and Will just gets a huge smile on his face. Brotherly love can be so sweet! I'm going to milk all that I get now! Like my mom says, "What one doesn't think of, the other will!" Ugh. I'm in for a few surprises in my lifetime, no doubt.
We're too tired to come up with something creative here...this could be a foresight into the future of this blog...God help all who read it!

Giggles
Tonight we heard Will laugh for the first time! He was laying on the floor and I was taking his feet up to his cheeks and he laughed. I asked Scott if he heard that and wondered if he'd do it again. Sure enough, he giggled again! I can't wait for him to start laughing at Owen!
It was an interesting night besides the giggle story. First I get to daycare and Randi tells me that Will has a big scratch on his head because Blake decided to drive a toy car on him. She had a bandage on it so I didn't see it until we got home. Now I know why she was making such a big deal out of it - it was a big scrap. Not pretty. Randi said she was surprised he didn't cry more than he did. She felt horrible because it happened when we was making a bottle. First daycare war wound and first giggles all in the same day!
Tonight was swim class. Owen's class had a new teacher. Which we were happy about because we weren't fond of the other one. Guess she won't be teaching the remainder of the sessions! This teacher let them put on their back floaties and away they went, right away! Owen was a swimming machine. When he has his back floatie on, he can swim without Scott holding him. He loves it! Well 10 minutes into the lesson everyone was told to get out of the pool. One of the kids had gotten sick so they had to close it for the remainder of the night. Bummer! Thankfully, Owen didn't seem to notice. We did get a credit for that class, so that's nice.
This weekend we are planning to have Owen pick out stickers and underwear. We are going to attempt to potty train. I'm not sure he's quite ready, but maybe the stickers will motivate him. We'll find out soon enough.

Back In The Saddle
Right now I'm listening to Will talk away in his crib. He's supposed to be going to bed. But he's not complaining, so that's nice!
Tonight we took Owen to swim class. He is a fish like his daddy. We also signed him up for the next level. That will take us into June for lessons. He's going to love it! Owen worked up a good appetite because when we got home he had water, orange juice and 2 pieces of toast. Hungry Hippo!
Will's first two days at daycare have been pretty good. He must have been exhausted from all the newness because he went to bed at 7:00 last night! Randi was worried about him eating because he wouldn't eat for her the first morning. I don't think he's much of a morning eater. Anyway, she said today was better.
Owen was super cute last night when I came to pick them up. I got him ready first and then was going to put Will in his car seat when Owen says to me, "Where's my brother? I need Will." This morning he told me not to forget the baby. He is very proud of his brother and gives him kisses at night. What a sweetie.
I am TIRED! This afternoon at work was a tough one to make it through. I really wanted a nap. I'm going to bed early tonight! Which means I should go now incase Will decides to get up soon.

Reality Check
Tomorrow I go back to work. My little guy will be 12 weeks old tomorrow. How did this happen? I seriously feel like it's only been a few weeks (like 4). It's crazy how fast it's gone.
I get to bring the boys to daycare tomorrow. I hope I leave enough milk for Will. I am packing some formula just in case, but hopefully he won't need it. I am more concerned about how Owen will react to having his little brother "in his turf" now. A few weeks ago I mentioned that Will would be joining him at Randi's and he told me "NO!" Tonight he seemed to ignore me when I told him that Will was going to Randi's with him in the morning. So I guess we'll just have to see what happens in the morning! I sure hope Will sleeps good tonight!
I had to call Grandma and Papa Anderson tonight. Out of the blue, Owen says he's going to hide from Grandma and Papa (they were here this past weekend). I told him that Grandma and Papa weren't coming anytime soon and that he'd be hiding for a long time. He told me, "I wait." So he had Daddy cover him up with the blanket and asked Daddy to join him. As they were hiding, I decided I'd better let Grandma and Papa know. Owen kept telling Papa that he was hiding from him. It was very cute. Will was quite the talker on the phone too. He loves to listen to Papa whistle.
Grandma and Grandpa Bielke are coming up this weekend. Owen is going to be spoiled with all his grandparents playing with him. And Will too because he's held all the time. But we wouldn't have it any other way! We're looking forward to it.
Well I better go to bed. Will must be sleeping because I haven't heard him since I put him down and Scott just came out of Owen's room. Good Night!

Busy Weekend
For a weekend that we didn't have much planned, it sure did get busy quick, but fun none the less. Friday the four of us went to Menards to look for a chair rail for Will's room. Didn't buy anything yet. We'll have to go and look again. Then we ate at Owen's favorite place, Noodles. He ate really good there. Then we were off to Best Buy. But Will was tired and hungry, so he and I stayed in the truck while Scott and Owen went inside.
On Saturday Jesse, Lisa, Annie and Lucy came over for supper. They brought over Papa Murphy's. They hadn't met Will yet, so it was nice to finally get together. We've had sick kids and various times and finally everyone was healthy! We live so close, but still hardly get to see each other. It's a shame, really.
Today, Truck visited (also his first time to meet Will). He came over to watch the Vikes game with us. It was fun to see them win! It will be a tough game for them to play the Saints on their home turf next week. It'll be a killer if they don't win it. (I digress.) For supper, we loaded up the kids and headed over to Wild Bill's Sports Saloon (where Grizzly's in A.V. used to be). Cousin Bill was in town from TX. He went to the Vikings/Cowboys game today...and cheered for the Vikes! His home team : ) He is staying with Ashton and Marcie tonight, so we met the three of them there for supper tonight. It was great to see him as it's usually years between visits. We'll get to see him in a few months at Ash and Marcie's wedding though! WooHoo! Or should I say YeeHaw!

Swim Class
Tonight at swim class, Scott said Owen was swimming by himself (with the aid of a chest floaty, but they don't help too much). He just took off! The teacher said when it clicks, it clicks! Pretty cool. Made us feel like the swim lessons are worth every penny.
I went shopping at the MOA today with Will, Vicki and Mia. Will was a very good shopper. We had one little meltdown, but it was tolerable. I got new clothes for work since I am going back in less than 2 weeks. (sigh). A lot of my pre-pregnancy clothes don't fit well with nursing, so I had to do a little shopping. Thank goodness for gift cards and coupons!! That makes it all the more fun to spend.

Better Late Than Never
It's been a while since I've posted. Computer issues and just plain enjoying my maternity leave. Unfortunately, as of tomorrow I will be back to work in 2 short weeks. Why does time have to go by so quickly? At least this time I know my daycare provider! So that part won't be new, but it's still not going to be easy. I'm not looking forward to getting up so early in the morning. I'm usually up feeding Will at that time now, but then I get to go back to bed!
Will was too easy to put to bed tonight. I'll probably end up being up a lot tonight. It can't be that easy, can it? He was fussy and I could tell he was ready to sleep, so I put him in his crib and turned on the music. I haven't heard a peep since I put him down at 8! It's a quarter after now. Most nights I'm in there every 10 minutes or so for 2 hours because he just doesn't want to fall asleep. He will fight and fight to stay awake. I have noticed he's starting to stretch out his feedings during the day. Maybe that'll happen at night now too....ah wishful thinking.
Owen started swim class last Thursday. He loved being back in the pool. Though a 1/2 hour is just too short for him. An hour class would be nice. It's amazing what a year does though. He is listening better and doing all the scooping and kicking really well! AND he will do the back float this time. He didn't like doing that before. I love watching him swim. He has so much fun. He did not want to change out of his swim suit (he wanted to go back in the pool). I had to bribe him with a sucker to get him to change....sigh.
